Rizwan is an actor
and singer/composer raised in New Delhi, The Bronx. As
an artist
who studied Musical Theatre and Art at New York City's "Fame"ous
High School of Music and The Performing Arts, Rizwan has performed
extensively in the live music circuit and performance art spaces
such as The Public Theater, The Theater for the New City and
the Asian American Writers Workshop. Currently studying Hindustani
Classical music, he is writing Zaika!, a musical
resonating the experiences of South Asian Americans in New
York and recording
an album in India in collaboration with his fellow musicians
called Autoricksha-Matic. His artistic endeavours and interests
are based on global and social activist energies; he aims to
create work that resists colonial classifications, embraces
life and celebrates diversity.
